- Graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College, Hickory, NC with a BS in Microbiology and completed the Medical Technology program at Presbyterian (Novant) Hospital, Charlotte, NC.
- 41 years of experience in the clinical laboratory field with a specializing in the technical aspect of the laboratory and with a interest in instrumentation and compliance.
- 29 of those years have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, a Bachelor of Science in Biology from UNC Pembroke, and a Master of Science in Public Health Administration from UNC Chapel Hill.
